For only the third time in UEFA Champions League history, the final will be between clubs from England.
Manchester City will take on Chelsea at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on 29 May.
The first time was in the 2007/08 season where Manchester United beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalties in Moscow, Russia. The second was in 2018/19 in Madrid with Liverpool beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0.
To set up the City versus Chelsea final, the Blues beat Real Madrid 2-0 in the semi-finals on Wednesday and 3-1 on aggregate. City had secured their place in the final with their 4-1 victory on aggregate over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
City and Chelsea have played each other twice this season, with City winning the Premier League match and Chelsea winning the FA Cup semi-final last month.
The two sides will meet in the Premier League before 29 May in the pre-Champions League final this Saturday at Etihad Stadium in Manchester at 6.30pm.
A win for City would see them being crowned champions of England with three games to spare. The only thing that is left for Chelsea in the Premier League is to fight for a spot in next season’s Champions League, however if they win on 29 May they are guaranteed a place for next season.
Chelsea won the trophy the first time in the 2011/12 season, beating Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties in Germany.
As for City, this is their first Champions League final.
