Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), the owners of PSG, have been linked with top Premier League clubs as takeover rumours ruled the mill.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were all said to be targets of QSI, according to Bloomberg News.
The rumours came following a meeting between the Qatari owners and Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy.
However, the club have since denied that the meeting had anything to do with a potential sale of the club, nor with the naming rights of their stadium.
Liverpool and Manchester United’s owners FSG and the Glazer family have put their respective clubs up for sale, with the Reds open to exploring a partial sale of the Merseyside club.
Martyn Ziegler, the chief sports writer at The Times, reported on Tuesday that a takeover is not on the cards. Instead, he states that any investment made in a Premier League club would likely be a very small one, with QSI not looking to sell the French giants at this stage.
“Qatar Sports Investments have ambitious plans but understand not looking to invest in Man Utd or Liverpool at the moment. Any PL club investment would be a minority stake as there are no plans to sell PSG,” Ziegler said on Twitter.
