The IFP manifesto launch got off to a bad start after three buses heading to the party’s rally in Durban were involved in a horrible road accident.
The accident happened this morning near Mgungundlovu and those buses were under the KZT company.
The buses are believed to be coming from Mtubatuba under uMkhanyakude District.
IFP UMkhanyakude District Chairperson Naye Mathe was shocked after hearing the news from Scrolla.Africa when he was asked for comments.
“Where did it happen? I am shocked because this is my first time hearing it. Let me quickly check the details from the local leadership and paramedics,” said Mathe.
The IPSS Rescue team said that they were busy with the injured people after three buses crashed on the N2.
During the time of publication some people were still trapped inside the buses.
The IFP is launching its 2024 manifesto for the 29 May general elections at the 75 000 seater Moses Mabhida Stadium.
After a month-long activations and mini rallies in taxi ranks, townships and hostels, the party has ventured south of the province to dispel claims that it was just a regional party with support north of KZN.
Since the local government election, the resurgent IFP has been beating the ANC in previously ANC strongholds and won most by-elections in the run up to the national general elections.
