IFP MP’s wife says he lied about her disappearance

Simenyiwe MaDlomo-Zondo, the wife of IFP MP Sanele Zondo, was reported missing last Friday.

Her husband said she was going to Richards Bay to shop, but they lost contact. He then asked the public for help in finding her.

However, soon after his request, a screenshot showed MaDlomo-Zondo speaking to family members.

In the message, she accused Zondo of lying to the public and hinted that there were issues of abuse.

“You can now even hit me. You have made me a joke in your society,” the message said.

On Wednesday morning, MaDlomo-Zondo went live on Instagram to talk about the situation.

She claimed that Zondo knew where she was when he asked for help to find her.

“It shocks me that he posted on Facebook saying ‘my beloved wife’ and suggested my disappearance was related to his political status. Why is he lying?” she asked.

The IFP Youth Brigade has asked that Zondo be given privacy to deal with these allegations.

“Due to the sensitive nature of this situation, we respectfully request that our national chairperson be given the personal space needed to address the issues raised by Mrs Simenyiwe MaDlomo-Zondo,” they said.
