Africa Cup of Nations hosts Ivory Coast face group stage elimination after suffering a 4-0 thrashing to Equatorial Guinea in their final Group A encounter on Monday.
The Elephants were wasteful in front of goal while the visitors were as clinical as ever to snatch top spot in style.
Tournament top scorer Emilio Nsue netted a brace for the National Thunder while Pablo Ganet and Yannick Buyla were also on the scoresheet in Abidjan.
Ibrahim Sangare did see two goals ruled out for the hosts, but there was only ever going to be one winner as the Ivorians left the pitch in tears in the face of an angry crowd.
In the other game, Nigeria booked their spot in the next round with a 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau.
Opa Sangante scored an own goal which left his side eliminated with no points to show for on the table.
Ivory Coast must wait for the other groups to conclude before finding out their fate going forward. The four best third-placed sides across the six groups progress to the last 16.
