After less than two months in jail, Jacob Zuma has been released.
He’s been placed on medical parole, the Department of Correctional Services said on Sunday.
The department said it made the decision because of a medical report from the former president.
“Medical parole placement for Mr Zuma means that he will complete the remainder of the sentence in the system of community corrections.”
Zuma was arrested in July after he was sentenced to a 15-month jail term when he defied a Constitutional Court order to appear at the state capture commission of inquiry.
