Half the world’s jobs at risk

New research on how the coronavirus is killing economic activity shows that half the world’s jobs are now at “immediate risk”.

Income for informal workers has collapsed – by 81% in Africa.

In Europe, income is down 70% and Asia 21,6%.

The International Labour Organisation, which released the research on Wednesday, says the massive decrease in working hours because of the virus means 1,6 billion workers in informal jobs could lose them.
