- The reality TV star shared the news on Instagram, saying her family’s love and bond have grown stronger.
- Maweni’s assault trial was delayed for her to give birth and will now continue in October at the Protea Magistrate’s Court.
Gogo Maweni has announced the birth of her twins, just as she prepares to return to court for an ongoing assault case.
The sangoma and reality TV star, whose real name is Makhotso Lee-Anne Mofokeng, shared the news on Instagram. In a post on 29 July, she wrote: “Ten days ago, our love as well as our bond got a whole lot stronger.”
The 38-year-old Izangoma Zodumo star is now a mother of five. Her first child is with an American ex, her second with actor Sthembiso “SK” Khoza, and her third with the late soccer player Siyabonga Zulu.

Maweni and her husband are celebrating the new arrivals, but she also has legal troubles hanging over her.
She was arrested earlier this year on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The charges relate to an incident that allegedly took place on 19 December 2019 in Dlamini, Soweto.
She pleaded not guilty when her trial started at the Protea Magistrate’s Court on 5 May. The case was postponed in June to give her time to give birth and recover.
The trial is now expected to continue on 15 October.
