The head of a church in Europe who blamed Covid-19 on gay people has been hospitalized with Covid-19.
Patriarch Filaret, the head of the 42-million strong Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has pneumonia.
The Church said in a statement that the Patriarch had tested positive for Covid-19.
Filaret said on television in April that the pandemic is “God’s punishment for the sins of men and the sinfulness of humanity.”
He said he meant same-sex marriage. He later doubled down on his words.
