Ambitiouz Entertainment’s freshman Fakaloice is sticking to the script with his new single Sekunjalo.

Fakaloice made a successful transition from being independent to signing with one of the biggest record labels in South Africa.

Fakaloice, whose real name is Phumlane Zondo, is from Verulam in KwaZulu-Natal. He burst onto the music scene with a song titled ‘Hellow Mah’ that became a Mother’s day anthem in 2019. People from all corners of the country posted short video clips with messages on social media, which were lyrics of the song to their mothers.

What follows is that he was recognised by record labels and got bookings that year.

A year later, the 27 year old released Sekunjalo, featuring his old time friend and vocalist Macarisma, whom he has worked with for the past eight years in KZN.

The vernac hip hop artist said even though he is now having troubles with distinguishing who his real friends and enemies are, he is really grateful for his new found success with the label.

“I’ve been trying so hard to get where I am at right now and I am grateful that my hard work and patience got me here,” said Fakaloice.

His previous work includes Angzazi and Your Son both of which he released in 2020.

The song Sekunjalo is about how he grew up in poverty and went on to become the talk of not just the town but the whole country.
