Following months of speculation about the new cast of the Real Housewives of Durban, Showmax has unveiled the socialites and glamour goddesses ready to grace our screens.
The lifestyle show will be back on screens on 1 February with three members replacing Thobile “MaKhumalo” Mseleku, Nonkanyiso LaConco and Londie London.
The new eThekwini queens are Maria Valaskatzis, Mbali Ngiba and Slindile Wendy Ndlovu.
“The new cast will be bringing all the class, glamour, sass and drama we’ve come to love and expect from the franchise,” Showmax promises.
The three new housewives join returning cast members Annie Mthembu, Jojo Robinson, Nonku Williams and Sorisha Naidoo.
The new cast boasts impressive profiles. Maria is a television presenter, producer and writer. She is also the director of media and communications agency MV Consulting and co-owns video production company VKATZPK Media.
Slindile is a qualified human resource consultant with experience in events management and interior designing. She is also the founder of events management company Mawesi Consulting.
Mbali is a musician and actress and the co-founder of African Centric Designs.
Season one’s 2021 launch saw the show garner massive viewership with the most first-day views on Showmax ever, trending on Twitter almost every Friday, and became one of the 10 most-watched titles on Showmax that year.
It went on to be released in the US on Bravo, the original home of the hit the Real Housewives franchise, as well as on NBC Universal’s streaming service Peacock.
In a statement, Showmax said: “Considering the magnitude and popularity of the Real Housewives of Durban, the new additions hope that their presence in the show will not only provide them with new opportunities but also assist in their self-growth and inspire many women who watch the show.”
