Mthokozisi “DJ Tira” Khathi’s Afrotainment recording studio in Durban was robbed on Thursday, with thieves stealing specialised musical equipment.
DJ Tira said studio gear like monitors, keyboards, microphones, and digital mixers, as well as Thahard drives loaded with unreleased music tracks, were taken.
“This is so heartbreaking,” DJ Tira said.
DJ Tira has offered a reward of R20,000 for information that could lead to the recovery of the stolen items.
The studio is known for being a creative hub for artists including Big Zulu, Makhadzi, and others, producing several hit records.
