On an eventful Saturday of Premier League action, Alex Iwobi’s injury time winner saw Fulham beat Manchester United 2-1 at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Red Devils’ top four hopes were once again dealt a hefty blow as Nigerian stars Iwobi and Calvin Bassey netted for the Londoners on the goal rush.
Harry Maguire levelled late on for Erik Ten Hag’s side after Bassey broke the deadlock shortly after the hour mark.
The revitalised centre half’s goal would not be enough to rescue a point, though, as Iwobi slotted home from a 97th minute counter attack to snatch all three points for the visitors.
There were goals galore elsewhere, too, with Aston Villa defeating Nottingham Forest 4-2, Crystal Palace beating Burnley 3-0 and Brighton and Everton playing out a 1-1 draw.
In the later games, title challengers Manchester City and Arsenal both closed their gap on leaders Liverpool, who blank in the league this weekend as they turn their attention to the Carabao Cup final with Chelsea.
The Citizens were 1-0 winners away at Bournemouth while the Gunners were at their destructive best in a 4-1 home win over Newcastle United.
Wolves face Sheffield United in the league on Sunday prior to the cup final while West Ham will face Brentford on Monday night football.
