Ciza walks away king of Metro FM awards night

• Ciza won Artist of the Year and Best Male Artist at the Metro FM Music Awards held at the Durban International Convention Centre.

• Veteran broadcaster Wilson B Nkosi and maskandi star Bheki Ngcobo received special honours for their long service and lifetime achievements in music.


Isaka hitmaker Ciza was the star of the night at the Metro FM Music Awards 2026 in Durban.

The awards took place on Saturday at the Durban International Convention Centre. The event was broadcast on SABC 1 and streamed online from 20:00.

Ciza walked away with two of the biggest awards. He won Artist of the Year and Best Male Artist, cementing his place as one of the country’s top performers.

The ceremony was hosted by Lerato Kganyago and Lawrence Maleka. It featured performances from well known artists including Mafikizolo, Nomfundo Hlophe, Shandesh and Nkosazana.

Other winners also made their mark on the night.

Music duo Thukuthela and Jazzworld had a strong showing. They took home Best Produced Album, Best Dance and Best Duo or Group.

Shandesh won Best Female Artist, while Kharishma was named Best New Artist.

The event also honoured legends in the industry.

Veteran broadcaster Wilson B Nkosi received the Long Service Award for his years in radio and music.

Maskandi artist Bheki “Ihashi Elimhlophe” Ngcobo was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the genre.

The awards celebrated both rising stars and long standing icons, bringing together some of the biggest names in South African music for one night.
