- Capitec Connect started selling Samsung Galaxy smartphones through the Capitec app in October 2025, with free 30GB data included for buyers.
- Customers who cannot pay upfront can use zero-deposit finance options, but must first collect a Capitec Connect SIM card at a branch.
Capitec Connect, the mobile virtual network that runs on Cell C’s network, is now selling a range of Samsung Galaxy smartphones through the Capitec app.
Customers who buy a device get 30GB of free data, given as 5GB a month over six months. Capitec Connect says it will deliver within three days of ordering.
Customers who cannot afford to pay upfront can choose a zero-deposit finance option. Capitec has also introduced advances to help customers pay for devices.
Before placing an order, customers must first collect a Capitec Connect SIM card from their nearest branch.
Phones on offer range from the Samsung Galaxy A05 (64GB) for R1,499 to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (256GB) for R28,999. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 7 (128GB), which comes with a Galaxy Watch 8, is priced at R42,999.
Capitec Connect launched in September 2022 and offers prepaid data, voice and SMS bundles that do not expire. By the end of August 2025, it had 1.1-million active clients.
Over six months, customers used 311 million minutes, a 22% increase on the previous year. They consumed nearly 15 petabytes of data in the same period.
Capitec’s fintech division, which includes Capitec Connect, grew its income by 40% to R2.9-billion in the six months ended 31 August 2025, up from R2-billion in the same period in 2024.
