Busiswa sings her side of the story

Not everyone can get on stage and perform in front of thousands of fans while being several months pregnant.

Busiswa Gqulu aka ‘Kalawa Chikita’ moved from hit music videos while pregnant, like Beyoncé, to singing with Beyoncé on a soundtrack album the Music Queen curated – The Lion King: The Gift album.

Busiswa has been telling her side of the story since the release of her latest album ‘My Side of the Story’  in November.

The album carries 12 upbeat songs including track number 12 titled ‘Dash iKhona’ on which she features big guns in the amapiano genre Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa with Mas Musiq and Vyno Miller.

The 32-year-old from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape is holding nothing back as this song alone runs for more than six minutes of piano madness.

Even though she didn’t wow many crowds with her electric moves on stages in December due to Covid-19 regulations she managed to keep her fans dancing at home while throwing hints that she is in love from the very first song titled ‘Love Song’ to track number 6 titled ‘Bonnie & Clyde’.

Busiswa is also featured in one of the most played songs in the 27 song album, ‘My Power’ alongside other African artists including South Africa’s Moonchild Sanelly.
