Shakes Ngema, an events company businessman who stepped away from the music scene years ago, has returned with a new single that is dominating airplay on radio stations nationwide.
Formerly part of the popular duo Shakes noSingle with his brother, Shakes has now gone solo and is making a comeback with Soka Lami, which was officially launched at the Boardwalk Mall in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.
During his time with his brother Single, Shakes worked with major artists like Big Nuz, DJ Cyndo, and DJ Tira.
Shakes had left the music industry to focus on his events business, Galawela Productions, which has been successful in both the private and public sectors.
“I’ve been busy with my business, but music is in my blood,” Shakes said. That’s why I decided to make a comeback with Soka Lami. The song’s popularity has surprised me as it’s topping the charts on many radio stations.”
