Nigerian musician Burna Boy has shared a touching message about late South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes on what would have been his 38th birthday.
Burna Boy posted the message on his Instagram stories.
In the Instagram post, Burna Boy opened up to his followers about their past fallout. He revealed that he and AKA had privately resolved their differences before AKA’s death.
The Nigerian star shared details about how the two had made peace. According to Burna Boy, the two artists had squashed their issues through Twitter direct messages.
However, Burna Boy expressed regret in his message about what happened after they made peace. He said that despite squashing their issues through the Twitter messages, they never got the chance to properly reconnect.
The two musicians also never had the opportunity to collaborate on music together. This was despite the fact that they had resolved their disagreement privately before AKA’s death.

In his Instagram tribute, Burna Boy described the disagreement between them as unnecessary. He made it clear that he regretted how things turned out.
Burna Boy said he would carry the regret of not reconnecting with AKA until they meet again.
He ended his message with a heartfelt tribute to AKA. Burna Boy wrote the words “RIP Mega” to close off his Instagram post.
AKA was tragically shot and killed outside a restaurant in Durban in February 2023.
