Gauteng police have made progress in the case of the tragic murder of Kaizer Chiefs player Luke Fleurs during a car hijacking, arresting six individuals connected to the crime.
The arrests took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Slovoville, Soweto, according to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo.
In addition to the arrests, the police were able to recover Fleurs’s vehicle which had been found stripped on Monday.
The 24-year-old athlete’s life ended in a hijacking incident in Honeydew, Johannesburg, a week ago.
Kaizer Chiefs lost their first match without Fleurs last weekend and are back in action against Richards Bay on 21 April.
