- Kamogelo Lebea and Themba Nhlabathi were last seen driving in Tsakani Extension 16 on Sunday afternoon.
- Their bodies were found behind a water tank in Masechaba-View, and their car was dumped 11km away.
The bodies of Kamogelo Lebea, 22, and Themba Nhlabathi, 30, were discovered by a local resident walking through an open veld in Tsakani on Monday.
The resident spotted the bodies behind a water tank in Masechaba View and called the Duduza police.
The two were last seen on Sunday in Tsakani Extension 16. The car they were travelling in was found abandoned in Barcelona, Kwa-Thema, about 11 kilometres from where their bodies were dumped.
Ekurhuleni police spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela said police are investigating a case of murder.
“We are appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects to contact the police,” she said.
The bodies were identified by their families, who have asked to be given space to grieve.
Police have not released details of how they died, and the motive remains unclear. No arrests have been made.
Kamogelo and Themba were described as close friends.
The investigation is still underway, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
