Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Nkosinathi “Black Coffee” Maphumulo has once again made headlines – this time for buying one of the country’s most expensive homes.

The internationally known DJ recently purchased a R157-million mansion in Cape Town’s elite Clifton neighbourhood, often described as South Africa’s most expensive area.

The property, called The Pentagon, is located on 5 Nettleton Road, known as the priciest street in the country. According to News24, the sale was completed through his company, Little Ark Holdings, making it the biggest residential property deal in South Africa this year.

Originally listed at R160-million, the DJ reportedly negotiated the price down slightly.

Designed by top architect Stefan Antoni, the 940-square-metre mansion offers sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. It features five en-suite bedrooms, a private cinema, a gym, and a 16-metre heated infinity pool that seems to blend into the sea.

Other highlights include a glass elevator, staff quarters and secure parking, combining modern design with luxury living.

The purchase has received huge interest online, especially as it comes soon after Black Coffee’s divorce from actress Enhle Mbali. Social media users have commented on both the timing and the price, but the star has not responded publicly.
