Known for her hit song “Water” which topped the charts in 30 countries, Grammy award-winner Tyla was warmly welcomed back to Mzansi by the Minister of Arts, Culture and Sport, Zizi Kodwa, and fans at OR Tambo Airport.

Kodwa applauded Tyla’s success and met her parents.

The singer later attended the Cultural and Creative Industry Awards at the Luthuli Museum in KwaDukuza.

Beyoncé sent her congratulatory flowers and a note praising her debut album.

“Congrats on your beautiful new album, keep killing it,” Beyoncé wrote.

The singer released her self-titled debut album in March to wide acclaim.

Talented Tyla enjoyed a positive reception from fans at the airport and they will have the chance to “meet and greet” her at the Mall of Africa in Midrand on Tuesday.
