Bellingham puts the brakes on Barca’s title aspirations

Real Madrid were 3-2 victors of an end-to-end El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday evening.

The slow paced start to the Spanish season’s most anticipated fixture did not prevent either side from finding the back the net up front as Andreas Christensen put the visitors ahead after just six minutes.

Los Blancos got their equaliser through a Vinicius Junior penalty 12 minutes later before controversy filled the Madrid air after a breach to their goal was flagged away by officials.

It was on the brink of half time that Lamine Yamal thought he had put Barcelona in front, with the ball seemingly crossing the line.

The lack of goal-line technology in La Liga meant that there was no guarantee of the same, and the game went on.

After the break the game picked up, with both sides looking for a final flourish.

The Catalans would get it first with Ferman Lopez making it 2-1 before Lucas Vasquez levelled matters for Real once again.

The winner was written in the stars for Jude Bellingham, who sent his side 11 points clear of Barcelona at the summit of the table with a stoppage time strike to make it 3-2.
