Beauty entrepreneur Unaiza Suliman is pushing salons across South Africa to teach young people a new eyebrow styling method.
The Uniq Brows founder wants aesthetic clinics and industry leaders to train the youth in Halaal Brows.
Halaal Brows is a beauty styling method that does not use plucking, waxing, threading or shaving. The method gently bleaches stray eyebrow hairs so they blend naturally into the skin.
The styling creates a clean look while respecting Islamic rules. The method is growing popular with Muslim clients and is also attracting non-Muslim clients who want natural results.
Suliman sees the training as a way to create jobs. She wants to open doors for young people who struggle to get started in the beauty industry.
“This is more than just a beauty treatment, it is an opportunity,” Suliman said.
She believes training young people as certified technicians will support their long-term career growth.
“We have the ability to create jobs, build confidence, and give young people a real pathway into business and financial independence,” she said.
Salons that join the training programme receive structured lessons and professional starter kits. Suliman encourages these salons to offer internships and entry-level jobs to young people in their communities.
Demand for the beauty treatment is growing in South Africa.
Trained technicians can use these skills to work in established salons or start their own businesses. They can also build personal brands on social media to attract more clients.
Suliman hopes to build a movement that strengthens local communities and creates new paths for financial independence.
