Noisy sheep have forced Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo to move out of his mansion.
The five-time Ballon D’or winner could not stand the sheep that kept waking him up at night and eventually gave up his R120 million luxury home in the UK just weeks after moving in.
According to an inside source, rest and recovery after games is greatly important to Ronaldo. He has been reported to take five naps a day, and insists that the bedsheets are fresh and clean for each one.
So shortly after he returned to the UK for his second spell at the club, he decided it was best if he and his family moved. The insider added that there was also an issue of security.
“The property is beautiful and is nestled in rolling fields and woodland, unfortunately it was also close to sheep which are very noisy early in the morning. It had a public footpath across the land and the road at the front gave a view inside its gates,” the source said.
The 36-year-old and his family have now relocated to a R60 million house, which has seven bedrooms. The house is said to have extra security measures, including CCTV cameras, electric gates, and guards on patrol.
“Ronaldo lived close by during his previous stint so it feels like home. His kids are in a private school and he hopes that once the buzz of his return to United dies down, he can take Georgina (his partner) out and show her his favourite local spots.”
To mark his return to United from Juventus, the former Real Madrid marksman netted a brace in his second debut last weekend to guide the Red Devils to a 4-1 win over Newcastle United in the English Premier League match.
On Tuesday he was also on the score sheet when United lost 2-1 to Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League opener.
Ronaldo is expected to lead up front once again as United will be seeking another league win away at West Ham United at 3.00pm on Sunday.
