To celebrate 30-year anniversary of Nirvana’s second studio album Nevermind on 24 September, an Australian fan mapped out the record’s cover art on GPS.

The world famous photograph depicts a naked baby swimming underwater towards a dollar bill attached to a fishing line.

Pete Stokes, a 45-year-old national parks project manager, is responsible for the amazingly detailed picture. He cycled 150km around the city of Adelaide to make it.

Stokes had already made a name for himself for mapping out pictures, using the exercise app Strava. He told The Guardian it took him eight hours to finish mapping out the album art.

“Nirvana has its place in my record collection. When this album came out I was in high school … that’s when you’re forming your love for music,” said the cyclist.

The cover has recently made the news after Spencer Elden, the baby on the cover art, sued the band for child exploitation.

Meanwhile, the cyclist has previously sketched out a dragon, a selfie, and the pianist and music composer Ludwig van Beethoven to celebrate his 250th birthday in December 2020.
