Grammy award-winning sensation and producer Anthony Hamilton is celebrating his 20-year career in music with a two-day performance in Pretoria this Heritage Day weekend.
Speaking to Scrolla.Africa, Soulful Night’s media liaison agent Maphuti Mothapo said the star is super excited to celebrate this milestone in Mzansi.
“Anthony loves South Africa and says it felt fitting to celebrate such an important milestone in his music career on our soil. We are all very excited to have him back here,” Mothapo said.
Asked why Soulful Night chose to celebrate Heritage Day with an act from abroad, Mothapo said: “South Africans love music, and music is very much a part of our heritage.
“So why not celebrate it with an international act of Anthony’s calibre and show him our beautiful and diverse heritage?”
Hamilton is no stranger to South Africa and returns to celebrate the anniversary of his first album’s release with a powerful performance. The album, Comin’ From Where I’m From, was released on 23 September 2003.
The legendary event will take place at Sun Bet Arena, Time Square in Menlyn, Pretoria over 23 and 24 September.
Fans of “Two nights of Up Close & Personal with Anthony Hamilton” are encouraged to wear traditional outfits that showcase their heritage.
The star will share the stage with some of Mzansi’s top artists and DJs, including Mandisi Dyantyis, Musa, Vusi Nova, Msizi Shembe and of course, The Ton3s (formerly known as The Hamiltones) will be gracing the stage with soulful performances.
With tickets almost sold out a month before the event, this will be a night to remember.
Tickets are selling from R450–R2,550 (VVIP – includes welcome drinks and food).
