ANC picks Mantashe as new MP for Dannhauser

By Sihle Mavuso

The ANC has appointed Gwede Mantashe as its new MP for Dannhauser in KwaZulu-Natal after losing votes to the MK party in the general elections on 29 May.

Mantashe, the party’s national chairperson and Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, takes over from Jabu Khumalo.

Mantashe visited Dannhauser last weekend to begin his new role and meet with Khumalo.

Mantashe’s spokesperson, Nathi Shabangu, told Scrolla.Africa that the minister will report back to the constituency on parliament’s work.
