South African influencer Mihlali Ndamase has been mocked by social media users in the US for allegedly editing a photo of herself to “look better” than Rihanna.
Mihlali attended the Fenty Beauty launch party in Los Angeles on 28 April, where she met pop icon Rihanna.
Rihanna made an appearance to celebrate the debut of her makeup brand’s new Soft’lit Naturally Luminous Longwear Foundation.
Mihlali took a picture with Rihanna, and social media users accused her of editing the image to make her appear more attractive than Rihanna.
“Rihanna is a million times more attractive, sexy, perfect and gorgeous. No comparison, no competition,” one user commented.
Another user wrote: “LOL. What some people don’t understand is that no one disputes that Mihlali is gorgeous with or without makeup. The real issue is how she edited her own pic and left Riri bare that screamed mean girl energy.”
The user said she did the same to Bonang a few years ago, then addressed Mihlali directly: “@mihlali_ you are gorgeous, sisi. There is no need to try to dim anyone’s light. Yours is bright enough, babe, because you are pretty without trying.”
