The five men arrested for the murder of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane last February appeared in court on Wednesday morning.
The suspects, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, 30, Lindani Shishela Ndimande, 35, Siyanda Myeza, 21, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, 36, and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande, 29, face multiple charges including conspiracy to commit murder, murder, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
They also face charges of money laundering.
Their court appearance was mainly to confirm details for their upcoming bail applications, which are scheduled to be considered over multiple days later this month.
They will stay in custody until then.
Additionally, Siyabonga Gezani “Nxele” Ndimande and Malusi Dave “Mjay” Ndimande, who are implicated in the case, were in court in Eswatini on Tuesday.
The prosecution wanted to seize four cellphones found during their arrest, but their lawyer requested a delay to review the application.
The extradition process to bring them to South Africa is ongoing, with the next hearing set for 12 March.
