SABC 1 has effectively confirmed that The Braai Show with Cass will air as scheduled on Wednesday night, after it teased about some of season 2’s special guests on Tuesday.
“1 more sleep, before we see the very first episode of The Braai Show season 2, with a brand new host who needs no introduction,” tweeted the channel the day before it is scheduled to air – at 7:30pm on Wednesday, 8 September.
The post was dropped alongside a 30-second snippet of the new series, giving fans a sneak-peek of the guests who will be joining new host Cassper Nyovest.
This will be unwelcome news to the show’s former host, AKA, who has, in recent months, made it clear that he did not want the show to go ahead without him. He claimed to own 50% of the rights to the show and demanded, via legal letter, that it be discontinued.
Somizi Mhlongo and former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi look set to be the first guests on the show.
They will be joined by actor Presley Chweneyagae, who played the role of David in the Oscar-winning movie Tsotsi.
SABC 1 and producers Cake Media responded by demanding that the rapper apologise and rescind his claim.
