Adele’s SA concert a scam

By Rorisang Modiba

Computicket has distanced itself from an advertised Adele concert set for September, with low ticket prices making people suspicious.

The concert, “Adele Presents: Coming to Africa,” excited fans until they saw ticket prices listed at only R89.

The average price of Adele tickets is around $1,400 (R25,000).

The British singer has won numerous awards, including 16 Grammys and 12 Brit Awards.

The ticketing company told The Citizen that the event did not meet their requirements.

Computicket has since removed the event from its site and started giving refunds to those who bought tickets.

“Refunds for all patrons who purchased tickets have already commenced,” a Computicket spokesperson said.

Computicket said the concert was listed on its Box Office platform, which was launched in 2022 to support smaller event organisers.
