Abathembu King’s wife enters politics to unseat the ANC in Eastern Cape

The sixth wife of King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo of Abathembu has entered politics to remove the ANC in the Eastern Cape.

Dr Nolubabalo maMcinga-Dalindyebo has officially joined the EFF ahead of the 29th May general elections.

She told Scrolla.Africa that her decision to enter politics was inspired by the late PAC leader Robert Sobukwe, who was a struggle stalwart and freedom fighter.

On Saturday she led the EFF campaign trail in Eastern Cape informal settlements, where she met black and coloured women without basic services such as water, electricity and roads, or houses.

“I joined the EFF to be a voice for the voiceless, to fight for justice, equality and the rights of all people.

“Coming from a family with a legacy of activism, including uncles who were in exile and a father who contributed to the struggle, I am driven by a deep sense of duty to continue their work and make a meaningful impact in our society,” she said.

She said her political activism was inspired by leaders like Robert Sobukwe from her hometown of Graaff-Reinet.

During her campaign, the shack dwellers told her in Afrikaans that they feel as if they have been forgotten people because they have no development or services.

Mcinga-Dalindyebo told the shack dweller: “Look auntie, if you vote for the EFF, you vote for your voice to be heard. They will hear your voice if you vote for the EFF, because always, every day, we fight for the voice of the people.

‘You see before 1994 they said we’d have free education, but where is the free education? Is it here? Look at all the schools where there are no rugby fields, no soccer fields. It’s been 30 years,” said Mcinga-Dalindyebo.
