Kaizer Chiefs are desperate to break their poor run when they face TS Galaxy in a Premier Soccer League match at Mbombela Stadium on Monday.
The Soweto giants have gone two games without a win, including a 2-0 loss to Polokwane City. That defeat has left them sitting ninth on the table, falling further behind title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
Despite the setback, midfielder Tebogo Potsane insists they’ve moved on.
“We have put the previous game behind us and our focus is on the next assignment against TS Galaxy on Monday,” Potsane told the club’s media team.
“The game is important for us and we need to work hard to ensure that we come back from Nelspruit with three points. We know the team and we’ve studied their games. We have to apply ourselves and ensure we apply ourselves.”
It’s been a rocky season for Amakhosi, who have managed only three wins, two draws, and three losses in the league so far.
Their trip to Mpumalanga won’t be easy, as Chiefs are missing six key players due to injuries. Among them are midfielder Gaston Sirino, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Dillan Solomons, Bradley Cross, and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, as well as Venezuela international Edson Castillo, who is dealing with a long-term injury.
Either Fiacre Ntwari or Bruce Bvuma will replace Petersen in goal.
Meanwhile, TS Galaxy are on the rise after a slow start to the season. The Rockets are unbeaten in their last four matches and will look to capitalise on Chiefs’ struggles.
