UEFA Champions League glory is beckoning for Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City or Chelsea.
Madrid, who have won the cup a record 13 times, face Chelsea, while PSG face City.
On Wednesday night at Anfield, Madrid held Liverpool to a goalless draw and the Spanish giants progressed by 3-1 on aggregate.
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said the 3-1 defeat in Madrid last Tuesday cost the Reds their place in the contest.
“We lost it in Madrid. That’s clear,” said Klopp on Liverpool Echo.
Klopp lamented missed chances. Gini Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah were the main guilty parties of those squandered opportunities.
“Many times Mo Salah would finish this type of thing. We had so many situations and we could have created more because the football we played was better.”
Meanwhile in Germany, Man City proved to be too strong for the home team Borussia Dortmund. The Citizens won 2-1 on Wednesday night and claimed the tie 4-2 on aggregate.
In the semi-finals, City and PSG will go first in the first leg with the Citizens visiting the French on 27 April. The return leg will be in Manchester on 5 May.
The second semi-final will see Madrid host Chelsea on 28 April in the first leg. On 4 May, the Blues will play host to Los Blancos in London for the return game.
This season’s final will be held at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday 29 May.
