Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau is reportedly keen on joining Kaizer Chiefs – but only if the club hires Pitso Mosimane as their new head coach.
Both Mosimane and Tau have been linked to a move to Naturena.
Mosimane, currently coaching Abha Club in the Saudi Pro League, is considered the favourite for the head coach position at Kaizer Chiefs.
The club has been without a permanent coach since parting ways with Molefi Ntseki last October, following a poor start to the 2023-24 DStv Premiership season.
The Citizen wrote that reports from Egypt suggest that Tau could contemplate a return to South Africa to join the Chiefs if Mosimane takes charge of the team.
Tau’s contract with Al-Ahly is set to expire in June, and although Al-Ahly has offered him a new deal that would make him the highest-paid player on the continent, rumours suggest that Tau and Al-Ahly coach Marcelo Koller do not see eye to eye.
Depending on Mosimane’s appointment as head coach, it remains uncertain whether Tau will stay with the Egyptian giants or return to South Africa to join Kaizer Chiefs.
