Arne Slot has confirmed that he will replace Jürgen Klopp as the new Reds boss next season.

With the legendary German taking his final bow at Anfield on Sunday, Liverpool’s search for a new manager is now over and an announcement of the same is imminent.

Currently at Feyenoord, Slot delivered De Kuip their second league title in over 20 years last season just one year after taking charge.

In his first season, the Dutchman led the club to the Europa Conference League final and then went on to win back-to-back Rinus Michels awards, an annual manager of the year award given in Holland.

The 45-year-old confirmed his move to Merseyside in a press conference on Friday; the same day that renowned reporter Fabrizio Romano broke the news that his Reds contract was signed.

“There hasn’t be an official announcement yet, but I don’t think it will come as news to you that I will be coach there next season,” Slot told reporters.

Slot’s attacking brand of football is something that Klopp himself praised when asked about his potential successor last month.

“I like the way his team plays football. If he is the one, I like that he wants it. It’s the best job in the world, best club in the world. Great job, great team, fantastic people. A really interesting job,” the Liverpool manager said.

The Reds will take on Wolves on Sunday at 5pm as the Premier League season comes to an end along with Klopp’s legendary nine years at the club.
