Manchester United were left humbled after a shocking 4-0 away defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday night football.
It was an embarassing display by Erik Ten Hag’s side from start to finish, with Michael Olise kicking off and concluding the carnage with two fine goals.
In between that, Jean-Phillipe Mateta powered his strike past Andre Onana at the near post just before the break to continue his stellar form under Oliver Glasner.
Mateta has now scored in his each of Glasner’s first six league games at home, becoming the first man to do so in the Premier League since Alan Shearer for Kevin Keegan back in 1996-97.
On the other side of half-time, Tyrick Mitchell got in on the act to score from close range — all while the Red Devils could barely register a sniff.
With just two attempts on target all evening, United’s hopes of European football have been dealt yet another significant blow.
Ten Hag’s men now have just one win in seven in the Premier League, against already-relegated Sheffield United, leaving the manager’s job under some severe scrutiny.
Palace’s push leaves them with four wins in five, with victories over Liverpool, Newcastle and United now all coming within the space of just three weeks.
They next take on Wolves on Saturday while United face leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
