Radio presenter Penny Ntuli’s return to Jozi FM has upset her coworkers because she allegedly gets special treatment.
She left Gagasi FM after rejecting a low salary offer of R2,800 earlier this year.
Now at Jozi, her special privileges are causing issues among the team. Sources at Zimoja say that Ntuli gets benefits that the others don’t get.
For example, CEO Mpho Mhlongo personally drives her to and from the station and waits for her show to finish.
A source mentioned that while Penny’s presence has increased the station’s popularity, her special treatment is not sitting well with some staff.
“Ever since she joined the station, she has been flooded by many visitors, admirers, sympathisers and politicians like the IFP Youth Brigade. Even the award-winning gospel singer Tina Zungu is amongst people that have been visiting the station,” the source said.
“She is taken to restaurants like Disoufeng in tourist attractions like Vilakazi Street. Yes, she’s still new in Soweto and Gauteng.”
The source said management is starting something the other personnel won’t stand for as time goes on.
“This may sound as if we are jealous, but we will expect other new staff members to be taken to restaurants around Soweto too when they get hired.”
