Red Bull suspends Horner accuser

LANGUAGE:

Red Bull Racing has suspended, with pay, a female employee who accused team principal Christian Horner of inappropriate behaviour.

The details of the suspension were not revealed, but it follows an investigation that dismissed the complaint against Horner.

Red Bull Racing says the employee has the option to appeal but it is unclear at this stage if she has done so or how such a process would be handled.

The team has chosen not to comment on this internal matter and Horner, for confidentiality reasons, also avoided discussing the investigation.

The FIA, the governing body of motorsport, and F1 have similarly chosen not to comment on the matter.

This development comes against a backdrop of increased criticism of Horner, particularly after anonymous allegations and messages surfaced on the eve of the new Formula 1 season, The Athletic reported.

Despite these challenges and public criticisms from Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen’s father, Horner has voiced confidence in his continued role within the team.

Max Verstappen, meanwhile, has voiced his wish for a stable team environment, stressing his commitment to Red Bull Racing through to 2028.
