“I distance myself from Prince Dlamini who is going around scamming using my name.”

This is the disclaimer from award-winning singer Zahara, who revealed last week that her name had been used without her permission by an entertainer she’d met only once.

Taking to social media, the singer rubbished his claims that she would be attending or performing at one of his concerts.

“I met Prince Dlamini when I was booked to perform in Eswatini and took pictures at the venue,” said Zahara.

“I would like to put it out there that I have no business dealings with Prince Dlamini and I am no longer in contact with him. Please be aware of him.”

The star of Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, continues to shine brightly in the music industry.

At the end of last week, the “Loliwe” hitmaker announced that she has won Best Female Artist at the African Entertainment Awards.

The USA-based awards support, celebrate and uplift African Entertainment. They use entertainment as a platform, to showcase an Africa that is united, self-sufficient, willing, and able to evoke social change that matters most in the communities of Africans all over the world.

International awards that Zahara has won include Kora Awards’ Best Female Artist from Southern Africa (2012), Channel O Music Video Awards, Best Smooth Urban Music Album (2012) and Nigeria Entertainment Awards’ Southern African Artist of the Year (2013).

The Eastern Cape-born artist has also announced the dates of the new reality TV show about her. It is due to premiere on SABC1 early next month.
