Life has not been smooth for sangoma Mable Mhlanga. Her love life has tangled with her business, causing her to appeal to the streets for help.

Mhlanga, 42, said she has been haunted by bad luck ever since she met her white boyfriend Tiaan Vos, who is also 20 years younger than she is.

Mhlanga said she suspects that her ancestors don’t like her boyfriend, but they never communicated with her nor even came to her dreams as a sign that they don’t like him.

She said she has ended up begging people because she does not make money due to her business slowing down, The Daily Sun reported.

She said she has had fewer clients since starting her new relationship.

“Those who come are struggling to pay,” said Mhlanga.

Mhlanga said she loves people and sometimes she heals them for free.

Even though her ancestors may have not communicated with her about her new boyfriend, she said she has no plans of breaking up with him.

“I love him and I don’t plan to part ways with him anytime soon,” said Mhlanga.

The mother of six survives only on the grants of three of her children. Last year, she said she performed ancestral rituals to please her ancestors but still her clients were not coming.

Mhlanga added that her ancestors had asked her to perform rituals and sacrifice a cow, but without money that would be difficult.

The sangoma said though she doesn’t believe that her ancestors are angry with her, she suspects people are jealous of her relationship.

“But I’m not sure if he could be the problem. We are happily in love with my mlungu man but neither of us has money,” she said.

Vos said he loves his woman and he is prepared to die with her. He is unemployed but looking for a job to do spray painting.

The couple is planning to officially get married at Home Affairs in February. They are appealing for help so they can have a wedding celebration.
