To celebrate the birthday of the late rapper Riky Rick, Legends Barbershop is relaunching its Waterfall Corner Barbershop in Midrand, Gauteng, with the offer of free haircuts.
Riky Rick, who reportedly took his own life in his Johannesburg recording studio earlier in February this year, would have turned 35 on Wednesday.
And to celebrate his legacy, his close friend and the founder of Legends Barbershop Sheldon Tatchell is running a special charitable promotion.
“Legends Barbershop is offering the first 35 haircuts for free, on condition you bring a blanket or warm clothes for a kids orphanage to give back to our community,” wrote celebrity Khanyi Mbau’s brother Lasizwe on Twitter.
There are over 50 Legends barber shops spread out over Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia.
Riky Rick, who had released only one album – Family Values in 2015 – throughout his whole career, left behind his wife Bianca Naidoo, his two children Malik and Jordan, and his mother Louisa Zondo.
