Nigerian music artist CKay returns with another smash single titled “WATAWI”. This time, he features fellow Nigerian superstar Davido and Mzansi’s new school kids, Focalistic and Abidoza.
The single “WATAWI” has a crazy amapiano beat produced by Abidoza. It is destined to take the world by storm with its tint afrobeat influence from CKay and Davido, who co-wrote the song with Focalistic.
Warner Music SAfrica announced the single on Wednesday, and with a name like Davido’s on its cover, it will certainly add to the 300 billion streams CKay has racked up in his career.
The musician, who recently sold out two shows in the United States, broke several records with “Love Wantiti” in 2019. It was the most streamed song globally on Spotify.
“Lyrically, the song covers a common topic in modern relationships – WATAWI/What are we?” continued the statement.
“A lot of people have been in tricky situations when their ‘situationship’ attempts to push things further than it needs to be,” commented CKay on the story behind “WATAWI”.
“Sometimes it’s best to let things be and just vibe without the pressure of defining the nature of the relationship,” added Ckay, who turned 27 years old on 16 July.
The much anticipated single will be released on Friday, 17 June.
