Following her smash hits “Loliwe” and “Nyamezela” (“Be patient”), Zahara has released a music video for her new song, “Izolo”.
The song featured on her seventh studio album, Nqaba Yam, which was released last month under Warner Music Group.
Last week, Zahara appeared as a guest on the controversial Podcast and Chill with MacG, which was aired for the first time on Channel O earlier this month, after running for the past three years on YouTube where it all started.
Because of its lyrics, it can be interpreted as a truce song between her and her former recording label, TS RRecords. Last week, while featuring as a guest on MacG’s Podcast and Chill, she claimed the record label still owes her money.
“S’xabanile Izolo kodwa ngixolile, S’xabanile Izolo kodwa ngixolele” (We fought yesterday, I forgave you. We fought yesterday, but forgive me), sings Zahara, whilst nailing every note on her acoustic guitar.
“What happened yesterday happened yesterday. I am here now,” continues Zahara, who sings in front of a blue studio photo shoot background on a deserted burnt grassland in the music video. The stunning visuals also feature dancers and shows a subplot of a family that does not get along, but has a happy ending.
The music video, which was directed and produced by BlaqBad, currently sits at over 179,000 views on YouTube.
“Izolo” is Zahara’s second music video released this year, after “Nyamezela”, which was released in June and has over 565,000 views on the same platform.
