Dr Mkhuseli Magudumana has broken his silence on his ex-wife, former celebrity doctor Nandipha Magudumana, and her relationship with convicted criminal Thabo Bester.
He spoke in Netflix’s new three-part series Beauty and the Bester, which premiered in September.
Mkhuseli, who married Nandipha in 2013, said the woman at the centre of the scandal is not the one he knew.
“I don’t know this Nandipha. This is not the mother of my kids. Something I can’t explain got hold of her,” he said.
He revealed the last time their children saw her was when she dropped them at school in 2023.
Nandipha’s brother, Nkosinathi, confirmed that he spoke to Mkhuseli during the scandal.
“I asked how he and the kids were. He said he doesn’t know this Nandipha, and that she should at least explain herself to the children,” Nkosinathi said.
Once a respected physician trained at Wits University, Nandipha built her career in anaesthesiology, dermatology and plastic surgery before losing her licence. She is now serving time in Kroonstad Prison in the Free State.
The Netflix series also highlights other figures linked to Bester, including actress Pearl Thusi, who recalls meeting him 13 years ago.
