  • Monarch says sacked spokesperson failed to communicate goings-on at Ingonyama Trust Board.
  • Fired royal prince suspected of working with politicians to oust traditional prime minister.

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has fired his spokesperson, Prince Simphiwe Zulu of kwaMinyamanzi.

In a statement, His Majesty said that the prince had betrayed the Monarch by failing to communicate with journalists to provide balanced royal reporting.

“Numerous complaints have been received from different media houses regarding your unavailability to provide timely and accurate official comments. This persisted and has led to one-sided and unfactual reporting,” the statement read.

The sacking comes after Prince Simphiwe Zulu was accused last month of plotting with certain politicians for the removal of traditional prime minister Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi.

Scrolla.Africa has learned that the King was not happy at all when he saw Prince Simphiwe Zulu driving a new Mercedes Benz.

Sources stated that the King believed the Merc was bought by those politicians who wanted the traditional prime minister to be expelled.

In any case, the prince sent Buthelezi a WhatsApp message in late December saying the Monarch had fired him.

King Misuzulu also accused Prince Simphiwe of neglecting his duties when communicating publicly on issues concerning the Ingonyama Trust and thus failing to prevent confusion within the Zulu nation.

The King has not verbally announced the expulsion of his traditional prime minister.

And it is not clear yet when the King will announce a new communications manager, after the dismissal of Prince Simphiwe.

Rumours are that he might make an announcement at the Battle of Isandlwana commemoration this coming Wednesday in Nquthu.
