  • Zee Nxumalo used her X account to ask fans to contribute R250,000 towards a new music video.
  • Fans made jokes about her request, with some asking why it costs so much and others offering money with strings attached.

Zee Nxumalo, an amapiano singer, known for her hit “Ngisakuthanda”, asked fans to fund her next music video.

Posting on her X account, she wrote: “I need 250k. That song needs a music video.”

The post quickly caused a stir. Many were surprised that a rising star would turn to her supporters for such a large amount.

Zee is currently gaining more attention as she prepares to appear on the eTV drama House of Zwide. But despite the career boost, she made it clear that she needs extra help to cover production costs.

The reactions came thick and fast.

One fan joked: “Remind me tomorrow, banks are closed. I was about to make my contribution Dali.”

Another teased her with a business-like offer: “Send me your banking details, I can loan you the money with 10 percent interest.”

Some were not impressed and asked why she needed such a large amount for a single video. “Why so much money Zee?” one person wrote.
