- The suspect is one of eight men wanted for shocking attacks caught on video and shared online.
Police have arrested a bouncer from Congo linked to the torture of young men at a Pretoria nightclub that shocked South Africa.
The 41-year-old suspect was caught by Johannesburg Metro Police officers patrolling in Yeoville on Thursday night.
He is one of eight suspects wanted after videos went viral showing bouncers at Zanzou club in Hatfield torturing young men who allegedly couldn’t pay their bills.
The videos showed the victims being sexually assaulted with bottles.
Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni said they found evidence linking the suspect to two cases reported at Brooklyn police station.

“This is a true reflection of law enforcement agencies in Gauteng working together to realise the Police Ministerial Cooperation Agreement which aims to enhance collaboration between the two law enforcement agencies,” said Mthombeni.
JMPD Chief Patrick Jaca praised his officers for catching the suspect.
“This arrest demonstrates the importance of inter-agency cooperation, and I want to thank the SAPS for their collaboration in this matter,โ said Jaca.
The suspect faces charges of compelled rape, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and crimen injuria. He will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Police are still hunting for seven more suspects.
