Building catches fire in Joburg CBD

The Johannesburg Emergency Services have responded to another fire in the city centre.

Emergency Management Services spokesperson Xolile Khumalo confirmed the incident. Khumalo said the department responded  to a fire in Newtown Johannesburg. She said the recycling material caught fire.

“The fire was contained and no injuries have been reported,” she said.

An assessment of the damages is underway to establish the cause of the fire.
